Ok so here's the plan. Kyle, my twin brother, Peter, my life long friend, and I are heading across the world this summer. This should be one of the craziest, most outrageous endeavors of our lives. Not only are we half way across the world for the month by ourselves, but all we have is the clothes on our backs and a backpack. No suitcase. No laptops. No Golf Clubs, unfortunately.
I think we plan on taking:
-a pair of pants
-2 pairs a shorts
-a few crappy t-shirts
-a nice polo
-walking shoes
-a pair of cheap sandals (for showering)
-diddy bag with toothbrush, toothpaste, contacts, etc.
-Let's Go Europe book (travel guide)
-cheap digital camera
All of this has to fit in a standard size backpack as thats all we will be taking. Atleast we can just take it on the planes as carry on. Ok so here's the flexible, very flexible schedule.
1. Amsterdam
2. Copenhagen with side trip to Sweden
3. Northern Germany Stop (Peenumunde?)
4. Berlin
5. Praque
6. Vienna
7. Munich
8. Venice and Northern Italy
9. Rest of Italy including Rome and Florence
10. Switzerland, Nice, France
11. Paris
Obviously all of this is tentative. There is always the possibility that we will love one city and hate another. We purchased our 1st class Eurail passes today. We got first class so we are guaranteed a spot on the train and possibly our own private booth. We also have our "IYH" or Internationl Youth Hostel cards awhile back. We plan on staying in hostels in most cities, which this card will allow us to do. Our passports should come sometime next week as it has been about 10 weeks, the approximation for arrival, since we ordered them.
My plan is to stop throughout Europe and attempt to update this blog. It would be sweet if I could get pictures on here while in Europe but that my prove to be very difficult. More than likely I will just post about where we are, what we are doing, what we've experienced, etc. Once I get home I will, unless crazy gypsies steal my camera, post tons of pictures. I am really pumped up about this and can't wait for June 20th!
